0:00 I fall more in love with Rome every time 0:02 that I visit and on this occasion I 0:05 stayed at the swanky first hotel Roma it 0:08 was located right near Piazza del Popolo 0:10 on a quiet street just steps from the 0:12 hustle and bustle of Rome the restored 0:15 nineteenth-century townhouse feels both 0:17 deeply historic yet true to the city and 0:20 it is completely modern and surprising 0:23 inside contemporary art sculptures are 0:26 displayed in the lobby as are the 0:28 Italian art pieces hanging on the walls 0:29 it has the feel of an elegant Art 0:32 Gallery the central skylight is the 0:34 building’s focal point and it fills the 0:36 29 room boutique hotel with sunshine 0:39 the sleek aqua Lena bar is as suited for 0:42 a sultry nightcap as it is for a fresh 0:44 morning cappuccino made to order don’t 0:48 hesitate to ask for anything here this 0:50 staff is at your service and they do all 0:52 that they can to make sure your stay is 0:54 as pleasant as possible each day starts 0:57 out in the posh Aquilino restaurant with 0:59 a decadent breakfast spread this goes 1:02 beyond the typical Italian breakfast 1:04 there are freshly made cheeses healthy 1:06 vegetables and fruits hard-boiled eggs 1:08 and more that round out this continental 1:11 feast do not miss the still warm 1:13 homemade pastries which change each day 1:16 every bite tasted of the restaurants 1:19 quality this was the perfect way to 1:21 start off our active days of exploring 1:24 Rome by evening the dining room 1:26 transforms into a gourmet experience 1:28 helmed by michelin-starred chef Narducci 1:31 since it’s a 200 year old home each of 1:34 the rooms and suites have their own cozy 1:36 charm as well as unique artwork our 1:39 junior suite had a sitting area mirror 1:42 TV and complimentary coffee bar I love 1:45 that the room face the street below so I 1:47 could open the curtains and taking the 1:49 life on the street I felt like I was in 1:52 my own Roman apartment a very luxurious 1:54 one of that 1:57 the king bed was heavenly soft and after 2:01 exploring all day I couldn’t wait to 2:02 rest my legs and jump in it the large 2:07 bathrooms were impressive as well black 2:09 marble floors and walls give it a very 2:11 sophisticated feel I appreciated all the 2:14 details down to the Italian made bath 2:16 products and the marble rain shower as 2:19 far as hotel bathrooms go this one was 2:21 top-notch and I think the biggest perk 2:24 of staying at this nobleman’s town house 2:26 is right above your head the first hotel 2:29 Roma has access to a beautiful rooftop 2:32 that showcases the incredible skyline of 2:34 this Eternal City I really enjoyed the 2:37 glass of closed roof gym which allowed 2:39 me to use their machines in the open air 2:41 nothing like breaking a sweat under the 2:43 bright Roman Sun in the warmer months 2:45 the Aqua roof serves food and drinks and 2:48 is buzzing with hotel guests as well as 2:50 well heeled locals those panoramic views 2:53 are a rare find I was thrilled that we 2:56 had such warm weather in the winter as 2:57 it was so nice to come up to the roof 2:59 and take in the breeze view the Vatican 3:02 and of course watch the sunset over this 3:04 ancient capital 3:10 you
The hotel itself is almost like an elegant art gallery. With Italian art filled this bright, airy space, it makes walking to your room or suite fascinating! The rooms are unique, all with their own art and luxurious linens. Our front facing Junior Suite had a living room area, along with an extra large black marble bathroom.
Don’t skip breakfast–the homemade buffet spread is impressive & delicious. Come evening, the Michelin starred restaurant Acquolina attracts the city’s gourmands for it’s high quality seafood, prepared under the guidance of Chef Narducci.
And for my favorite part? The First Hotel Roma has an incredible rooftop! This spacious rooftop has many areas for relaxing with a cocktail or coffee and absorbing Rome’s rooftops from almost every direction! In warmer months, food and drinks are served here. Seems like another reason for me to return to the Eternal City and stay at this exquisite boutique hotel.
